Demeter was the Goddess of Agriculture in Ancient Greece, often depicted carrying bounties of wheat, flowers, and surrounded by sunlight. In the midst of a grove of oaks, Ancient Greeks created a sanctuary from which to worship her, known as the Cave of Black Demeter. Inside, the Goddess is depicted with a horse’s head and mane. Her priestesses were known as the poloi, meaning colts - the horse children of this life giving deity. Carved from agate and set with black diamonds. Pictured here in 14k yellow gold.
