The Kuaneos are hook earrings that feature a dark blue resin Gorgoneion held aloft by a circle of gold.

Multiple words were used by the Ancient Greeks to describe the colour we simply call “blue” in English. The word kuaneos is often applied, for example by Homer, to the deep, blue-black of the ocean. Surrounded as they were by sea, it played an important and powerful role in the Greek psyche - not merely as a void of water but as a vibrant and intense topography full of Gods, monsters, nymphs, and treasure.

Handcrafted and individually cast. Each piece is unique, which we believe is what gives it its beauty. Nickel and lead free, vegetable resin. Dimensions: 4.5cm long x 1.5cm wide (at widest).

Gold has a tendency to scratch, so extra care should be taken when wearing and cleaning to maintain quality and appearance.

Sterling silver that is worn regularly requires less care, so we encourage you to wear your silver treasures daily.

Online purchases can only be returned for exchange via post, to the Cleopatra’s Bling Head Office.
