This lapis lazuli pendant in the shape of a fish is suspended facing downwards using the ancient jewellery-making technique of wire wrapping.
The name Lutiya is derived from the earliest known epithet of the Turkic peoples’ mythic fish, who, like the Greek Atlas, held up the entire world on its back. It is said that the fish is so great that it cannot be gazed upon by humans without total awe, and yet it is a symbol of stability, through its calm support of Earth on its shoulders.
Each pendant is hand carved, assembled and slightly unique. These are a limited edition item, which once sold out will not return.
