The priestesses who attended to the Roman deity Vesta were famously veiled as they performed the rituals used to honour the Goddess of home and family. One of these attendants was immortalised in the sculpture of La Femme Voilée, or “the veiled woman”, carved from white marble by Rafaelle Monti. The Vesta Ring recalls the shape of the flower wreathed woman, shrouded in folds of stone. It was the role of the vestal virgins, whose temple was discovered in Pompeii in the 1840s, to keep an eternal flame burning at their sacred site, which symbolised the hearth. The Vesta Ring is set with an Australian Parti Sapphire and studded with diamonds. Pictured here in 18k solid yellow gold.
